Suggestions Welcome and Encouraged.

First off, there are the Michael Symon places:

Lola
Lolita
Bar Symon

Then there are a few other pricier joints that I haven't made it to yet.

Momocho
Moxie
The Baricelli Inn (EDIT 5/21/13: It closed. I've been to Washington Inn, which replaced it ( Read more... )

Mallorca is fantastic. Have you been to Brasa? It's even better.*

Sergios... meh. I think I was expecting a different menu when I went*, so I was rather disappointed in the offerings.

*In the interest of full disclosure, I grew up eating Brasilian food, so this might skew my opinions some.

I've eaten at Brasa twice (both for bachelor parties) and love it. But as my wife does not eat red meat, I don't typically think of going there.

Mallorca is on the list, but I must admit that one of my friends had what he called the worst service of his entire life there so it's lower priority.

Sergios is on the list largely because I walked past it every day for five years and never went in. I've been to their other place in Shaker Square (Caravas?) and liked it, but not enough to go back in the intervening three years.

do go directly to the blue point even if it is only for the mashed potatoes.
and when going to superior pho, you must try the vietnamese sandwich.

I saw that you were referenced in Ferrett's yelp review of Superior Pho, and will take your recommendations seriously in that respect.

As to mashed potatoes, I already had the best ones of my life at Crave in Akron.

I took him to superior pho, because i worship that place, but don't eat there often enough anymore.
Anyway, I take mashed potatoes very seriously so i guess i have to hup it down to Crave...
Oh, if you hit flying fig ask about the ice cream. They get super dooper home made hand made ice cream that is psycho-good, flavors change regularly.

The mashed potatoes at Crave were a side on some entree that wasn't as good as it the food that accompanied it. They were yukon gold with manchego cheese. Their menu changes periodically and this wasn't on it last time I was there, sadly.

One Walnut and Superior Pho... anonymous October 8 2009, 16:37:53 UTC
If you want to go to One Walnut just to say you've been, feel free. But be prepared for one of the worst meals of your life. My pork chops tasted like lighter fluid!

Superior Pho on the other hand - Yes Yes Yes! The Bahn Mi (the aforementioned Vietnamese Sandwich) was really good (and cheap!)

Lola is awesome. At least, it was ten years ago. I hope it still is. We got a "tasting menu" which is where you give them a lot of money for the privilege of not getting to pick what you have. You have to call ahead and schedule an appointment, and then they bring you five courses of their choice.

It was one of the best meals I have ever eaten. Pricey as hell, but you don't go there every day.
