If I couldn't remember whether I saw it on a big screen or a little screen, I voted little. I didn't bother to look it up on my lists. I also counted movies that I'd seen more than 90% of it on video (aka, the Braveheart rule).
As a snapshot of popularity this list isn't terribly useful since more recent titles are always overrated. Let's just say that if it's less than 5 years old, there's a good chance it shouldn't be on this list. For example: Into the Wild. I never saw it, and I know very few people who saw it. Those who did, hated it. I have some very movie savvy friends ( waves at pianodan ) and if none of them have mentioned it, it's not that good. See also, In Bruges. Also, I loved 'Let the Right One In', but 191? Hah. Ditto for Kill Bill and many of the other things on this list.
For more accuracy, IMDB should make it so that you can't vote on movies that were released in the last year. That's iron out some of the inconsistencies, but since they don't climb to be scientific I suppose I can cope :-)

If I couldn't remember whether I saw it on a big screen or a little screen, I voted little. I didn't bother to look it up on my lists. I also counted movies that I'd seen more than 90% of it on video (aka, the Braveheart rule).
As a snapshot of popularity this list isn't terribly useful since more recent titles are always overrated. Let's just say that if it's less than 5 years old, there's a good chance it shouldn't be on this list. For example: Into the Wild. I never saw it, and I know very few people who saw it. Those who did, hated it. I have some very movie savvy friends ( waves at pianodan ) and if none of them have mentioned it, it's not that good. See also, In Bruges. Also, I loved 'Let the Right One In', but 191? Hah. Ditto for Kill Bill and many of the other things on this list.
For more accuracy, IMDB should make it so that you can't vote on movies that were released in the last year. That's iron out some of the inconsistencies, but since they don't climb to be scientific I suppose I can cope :-)
