I'm not a number, I'm a free man! So I went and
I voted today. Lord that was depressing. In retrospect I should have asked for one of the "Issues Only" ballots instead of a Democratic ballot. For those not here in OH, you don't register by party here, you just ask for the ballot for your preferred party, or for an issues only ballot if you really don't like either party. Anyway, there's like a gazillion people on the ballot and even though I made a conscious effort the last several days to read up on everything, it's pretty much impossible to have a set opinion on the primary candidates for a minor race where each person got maybe one sentence in a voter guide, so I really feel ignorant. Yech. The Issues were at least more clear cut, but for some reason the library funding issue (#23) wasn't on the ballot. Apparently it wasn't a Cleveland issue? I don't know what was up with that.
The high point of voting? Two women roughly my mother's age were running the booth. After they found my name on the registration list, one wrote down my name on another list. The lady in charge says "You have his name down? Good. Better get his phone number too, he's the cutest man we've had in here all day."
The low point of voting? Realizing that all of the Democratic candidates for president made my skin twitch. In the end I held my nose and voted for Kucinich because [A] Neither Kerry nor Edwards makes me feel anything positive about them [C] and everyone else on the ballot already dropped out - Sharpton wasn't on the ballot, not that I would have voted for the anti-semitic SOB anyway. Kucinich has no chance of winning, which doesn't matter in the primary, but at least he's shown some ability to stick to his positions no matter what. Which could be considered a sign of an inability to compromise. Damned if I do... I don't look forward to November - Bush vs. Kerry/Edwards vs. maybe Nader.
Hey, but if you don't vote you can't complain! And I do love to complain.

M: 225(pw). Su: 222(pw). I was in a horrible mood on Sunday and delegated the whole show to AP Danielle and Elise besides the opening and closing sets. So Amy's painstaking research went to waste. Sorry babe. I did play Night Prowler off of it.
