From 1966, French pop singer Marie Laforêt's utterly distinctive re-recording of the Stones "Paint It Black." She rewrote the lyrics too so the French song is known as "Marie douceur, Marie colère," warning that if she isn't treated right, the sweet Marie will become the enraged Marie. No being a "back street girl" for her.
