Why are baby carrots the ultimate thing to munch on when you're not really hungry? Mmm...sweet juciness. Just put down the carrots, Cynthia. Good girl. One more!
I have a new cat! I rescued him late this summer. The poor guy was a sick stray cat living near Sarah's house. He's definitely no replacement for Simba, but I'm getting pretty fond of him and his mannerisms. (Trying not to pick up another carrot...) He doesn't really have a name. He's been through "Honey" (my favorite), "Leo", "Jack", and now "Pudding", with "Pickle" in the hole. (Caved, I'm eating a carrot. I'm going to turn orange...when I was a baby my favorite baby food was carrots, and my mom said she thought if she fed me too many jars I would turn orange. Just a sidenote.) The cat's name was "Honey" when we assumed he was female, but when I cleaned him up (flea bath and all!) I got to take a good look and saw...yes...NUTS. The kitty was a boy! So Mom and Dad, in their email correspondences, have been calling the cat "Honey Nuts." I just can't pick something that fits such a lively young cat. He's mostly white, with orange on his face (with little brown stripes), a big orange spot on his back, and an orange striped tail. His front paws are so cute. One paw has six toes and the other has seven! Dude...my cat can count to THIRTEEN!(go 'gate!) He's insane, too. In the morning he gets all excited and plays with his toys and runs in circles around the house and slides across the wood floors. He ripped holes in the bottom of the ottoman in the living room, and yesterday he somehow climbed inside the ottoman. Mom and I took pictures when he poked his head out of the bottom, and then we had to drag him out. I caught him laying in there again this morning. Soooo cute. He's definitely very happy here and grateful for a home and food and love.
Mom's birthday was this Friday! Dan and I took her out to dinner at Hurricane's and spent about $150 on dinner for the three of us. Yike! But Mom is always worth it. She was surprised and happy that we did that for her and that she got to spend time alone with both of us. I also had spent the day cleaning the house so that she wouldn't try to vacuum or dust on her birthday. Nyawww. On Saturday night we saw Vanity Fair at Cinemagic. The costumes in that movie were amaaaazing. I wasn't sure whether I liked Reese's character. She was the lead and you wanted to like her...but she was just so manipulative! Ahh! But it was definitely a fun movie to watch. Yesterday I went with Mom to the mall. Mmmm shopping! Enough said!
And on the nerd note...he're's the rundown: this weekend I fixed the internet/network issues with our basement computer, solved the driver and explorer conflicts with our upstairs computer, and figured out how to utilize my 80GB external hard drive by getting a usb2 card for my laptop!! woot! What a geek. Money spent: $90, before deducting the $25 I had in Best Buy gift cards. Money well spent. I can't wait to start editing videos again...muhahaha!!! Real space to do it with!
