Quest

I will be attending the premier book signing of Carolina Genesis on June 26th in Harrogate, Tennessee.  It is extremely exciting as I will meet most of the other authors who participated in Carolina Genesis, Beyond the Colorline.  Press releases are going out to major newspapers this week and there are photo-ops with the publisher and other authors as well.

When I get back home to Corpus Christi, I will need to market the book here in Texas and in Central and Southern North Carolina.  While the historical topic is not the most interesting in the book world, it is correcting misrepresentations in history and finally including the history of people previously considered 'marginal' in society.  I believe many readers will identify with the multi-ethnic heritage that is very much a part of American history.  There is much to celebrate in this non-fiction book and I'm extremely proud to be part of the team that researched and wrote it.

The intrigue begins with mysterious ancestors who were clannish and kept their secrets.  They did not openly boast of their heritage.  The journey to finding the truth has been an adventurous quest for most of the researchers and what we have produced is a real treasure.  And the most beautiful part of the book is that it is completely true.  It is American history of the common folk.
