I kind of screwed up. :P

All day yesterday I was looking forward to getting home from work so I could set my my account and resume on Luxor.com and apply for that theatre usher position. It took FOREVER! It seriously probably took about 2 hours for me to fill out all the pages of information they needed and typed out my work history, resume, etc. So FINALLY I got all that done and applied for the theatre usher position. But there was a pre-screening section that asks you a few questions about your experience relating to the job you are applying for. The theatre usher job had a minimum requirement of 1 year theatre or showroom ushering experience, and I checked that I had 0-1 years.. My reasoning was that I was with Nevada Theatre Company for just under a year. I should have checked 1-2 years, because after I submitted the application, I got the following message:

Thank you for your application for the Theatre Usher position.
Unfortunately, you do not meet the minimum requirements to apply for this job. Please feel free to search for another job.

>_<

I tried to go back and do it over again so I could select 1-2 years, but it said "Sorry, you have already applied for this position!" Blahh! Oh well, what can you do. I was kind of upset, but no sense in dwelling over it. Maybe they will post another one someday. This morning I noticed Mama Mia at Mandalay Bay was also hiring usher, and I applied with the same results. (They are managed by the same property so it was the same website). The job requirements for that one just said 1 year experience preferred so I did the 0-1 year option and was again locked out. Haha- I am so stupid! :P I'm not that upset about that one though- I didn't want to work at Mama Mia anyway. So there!

But this has seriously got me thinking.. and now I'm kind of hopeful/excited. I'm beginning to get the feeling that no matter how many of these jobs I apply for, I just simply do not have enough experience yet. And so I'm thinking.. maybe I should try and get in touch with Las Vegas Little Theatre and get a few more shows under my belt.. I feel sort of justified in doing it. Before, I felt like I had no right to do volunteer work when I need to work all this overtime to pay my dad back for the car. But.. maybe I can just work harder during the week.. even if it means 12 hour days. Then maybe on the weekends I can work with LVLT...

Omg.. could I really go back to theatre...? 0_0
