during the opening act, Bernie Worrell and Brain also made guest appearances, not just Les.
The Magic Box Thingy is called a Theramin. Invented by that guy Mr. Moog. it takes electromagnetical waves and stuff and makes that weird sound. Left hand is for volume, and right hand does the X, Y, and Z axis' to get whatever sounds. No strings. Penn and Teller use one in their show too. Very trippy.

The electric upright bass is often played with a bow... not a violin bow, and its not a big violin. its just a big bow made specifically for upright basses. see your local orchestra for details.

i liked the part where les (according to my friend) stopped singing "Buckethead" to stare at me cuz I was overpowering his MIC'D and AMPED voice.. lol
also, i'm 10'4", and could barely see over the stage, which doesn't have a solid front mind you... heh.
