Summary: she’d looked into tired, angry blue eyes and known that Lily was going to feel like home very soon.
It isn’t like she hadn’t always known that she was going to love Lily. The very first time they’d met she’d looked into tired, angry blue eyes and known that Lily was going to feel like home very soon.
She just hadn’t meant to fall in love. Loving is easy. When she had loved Lily she could’ve left her behind on safe soil and let her fight her people’s case with the Justices. She would’ve visited (until she forgot) and called (until Lily didn’t bother picking up the phone anymore.)
Being in love with Lily meant that when Lily demanded that she take Lily with her when the case was waitlisted…she had argued but given in. Taken someone like that- a wonderful, honorable person and dragged her into the slinking, criminal life she leads.
And she can’t regret it because Lily’s here.
