In moments of panic just say to yourself 'it's fine to panic, i accept the feelings of panic, it will pass, i am a human being and they panic, it's all normal and okay'.
strangely enough this works for me especially for feelings of depression. i figure 'it's okay to be depressed, because i am a wonderful human being with a whole range of emotions - and that's fine and okay'.
