hokkien lang!!!

hey all, in my bid to begin nanowrimo this year, i have decided to take up a new language, to better help me understand my fellow singaporeans - Hokkien.

in light of the recent popularities of broadway beng and other commodities like learning being thoroughly insulted without having a clue as to what was being said to one's face, i have started to religiously read abit from these websites every night:

http://www.singlishdictionary.com/
http://hokkienlang.blogsome.com/2005/08/17/hokkien-class-1/
http://www.learnhokkien.com/lesson_01.htm
http://www.talkingcock.com/html/index.php

they've been super useful in my plight to learning a language spoken by even the non-chinese. i want to say more than just the essential vugarities. especially since i wanna base my story on sort of a very colloquially local context for once. i realize all the things i write are so un-singaporean, it's ridiculous. gonna get knee-deep in my roots and chronicle my journey through this long winding rhyming hokkien road. i'll be needing a new notebook soon balls. if Ris Low could make  up her own words, i'm sure anyone else out there could.

how on earth does one use 'shingz'? how? then i could jsut jump up and down in excitement and go 'Bojangles-Bazinga' and deem it as totally acceptable mode of expression. or perhaps if i was feeling sad i could jsut pout and say 'chiakzz'', for angry i could frown and go 'FWAH' for stressed up one could repeat 'bing bing bing bing' continuously. there's an endless supply of ridiculously made up words. so i'm off to bed now, after putting in some writing time, goodnight all - PIMZ!!!
