gleefully done
it's been a long while since i last watched television. or well, television series. but gossip girl is back, in fact it starts today in the US. but im not as hyped for it as i was before. you know what i've just had a double dose of? GLEE.
to the layman, Glee is a term used to describe happiness. but in the show's american context, the GLEE club is a musical chorus performance group - basically a choir that dances. remember the likes of sister act 2? yea, that wasn't a choir, that was a funky 90s' high school glee club that had lauryn hill as it's rebellious lead. ok so how is this GLEE tv series then? seriously awesome. it's like a mesh of RENT and High School Musical, but without the whiney nasal voices of the disney kids, and not as raunchy n homoflamboyant as the broadway hit. which sits just right for me too. which makes me feel that it can be done. we can have good musicals coming out of singapore, if only we jsut try hard enough, and have people who want to be part of it wholeheartedly. the lead girl reminds me so much of idina menzel, especially when she sang rihanna's 'take a bow' in the 2nd episode. i always had a penchant for musical shows. i just loved them, bcoz music is not something i could learn to read or play. singing is not my forte, but i know i really appreciate and am able to enjoy the true goodness of such things. i may not posess the gift, but i fuel the talented. for those who truly love musical theatre or singing or jsut a little musical fun, GLEE is the show for you.
on a side note, everyday i get more delusional over my job. and my workplace. i try my best to make the most out of it. i really do. but when your cons far outweigh your pros, you know it's time to go. with luck like mine, i ain't going far. so i havent a choice but stick it out to the end....coz now it's raining more than ever....hahahaha.
these days i get exhausted n sleepy so easily. it scares me sometimes.
