Tomorrow at 10:30 my very first pet is going to be put to sleep. I can remember very clearly the day we got her. Kara is very old now and she's suffering so we decided that it was time that she be put to sleep, it is going to be strange not having her around. We used to sing the old yeller song and instead of saying old yeller we'd put her name in

Oh, Nicole, I'm so sorry. I didn't think you were going to have to put her to sleep so soon. Are you going to the vet with her?
You know I understand, and I know it's the worst feeling in the world... so do you. I'll talk to you about it tomorrow. I'm getting all teary just thinking about it, so I can only imagine how you're feeling right now.
Just try to remember that it's for her. She'll be better if she's not suffering, and the last, BEST way you can show her how much you love her is by ending her pain.

aww, thank you. Well, today my sister called to inform me that the vet wouldn't put Kara down b/c they said with dog advil and new special food and a bath that she'd be ok. So my dad decided not to have her put down. While this is good news I just worry that the advil won't help her and we'll just have to put her down later.
