Free online C class

The people hosting my t-shirt website (which I will have to plug in a better post later) http://tatabox.freeshell.org are having a free online C class.

SDF's first official online class with begin August 22nd, 2008 with an
introduction to C programming. The course will use various features of SDF
including ATutor (http://webmail.freeshell.org/at), the web forum
(http://webmail.freeshell.org/bbs) as well as 'com'.

SDF Educational Cooperative
THE C PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE, second edition
by Brian Kernighan and Dennis Ritchie

Facilitator: Kevin Thorn (kthorn@sdf)

Description:
The SDF Educational Cooperative is a study group for SDF members
who wish to sharpen their technical skills and/or assist other
SDF members do the same. A text is chosen and is worked through at
a moderate pace. COM and email are used to discuss the material.

This session covers Brian Kernighan and Dennis Ritchie's seminal work
THE C PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE, second edition.

Schedule:
This session will begin on Friday, August 22nd. and the text will be
covered at a rate of one chapter per week.

New chapters will be begun on Fridays, giving members the weekend to
read and study the material and to work on the exercises. COM sessions
go over the work will take place on Tuesdays at Thursdays at 21:00 EST.

It's free and very laid back, so even if you can't make the sessions you can go on the forums. You can join and leave whenever you want, but they are starting tomorrow at 9pm.
