What's up, CHUCK?
I don't know, CHUCK, what's up with you?
That seemed like a funny/witty start to the journal entry when it came to me in the shower (at 6am) this morning. Not so sure about it now.
It still kinda works though, in so much as it doesn't. Which is the point I want to make about "CHUCK" (the new nerd action/comedy). It doesn't work. I'm trying, really trying to like it. As a card carrying geek, I'm very excited about all the new "geek shows" they're trying out this fall. I feel I should like them. But this one just isn't doing it for me yet. It's like someone comes up to you and says, "I'm going to tell you a joke," but then never actually says something funny. Occasionally the show makes me laugh (or atleast chuckle), but the rest of the time is spent in the "action" part of the show that is neither funny nor action packed. And when it does have action, it's so implausible that I have trouble enjoying it.
Despite all my complaining, I'll probably watch it a little more to see if it improves. Hell, I gave "Studio 60" more of a chance, despite it not being all that good. Come to think of it, though, I at least laughed more at the first few episodes of that then I have at "CHUCK". Probably not a good sign.
