Hay thar. I'm in Washington.
I've edited this entry
here with a video.
This
one with more pictures.
I actually got back last night. I was too tired to write anything though.
Time is all...weird. Jet lag. I actually got up around 5:30 PM today, which would be 8:30 AM back in Angeles.
The trip back was hectic. Then boring. Getting into the airport in Manila is a chore. Again, security checkpoint just to get IN the airport. LOL They actually confiscated something from my luggage. These magnet things that clack together. Apparently there are no magnetized material on planes anymore. Or just planes in the Philippines. I heard that lady playing with them while waiting in line. (They sound like a rattlesnake tail or something) HOW DARE SHE?!
After we got to Taipei (the flight there wasn't exciting), we checked into their airport for a while. Must have a lot of long layovers. Went to a Taiwanese Starbucks! XP Have basically all the same stuff. Just a lot cheaper. We bought 3 sandwiches, 2 drinks, and one piece of cheesecake. Only 13 bucks. You can pay in US dollars, they just won't give you the right change. They gave us back a...100...coin. What do they call Taiwanese change?
Nice hotel. I was still sick so I kept waking up all hot and irritated. Fever!
My dad actually upgraded our tickets from Economy to Deluxe class. Yeah baby. Not first or business (too many classes) but still pretty nice. Your chair pushes back further and you have a little rest for your legs and feet. Still uncomfortable to sleep in though. You're basically in a broken Lazy Boy recliner. It won't go all the way back to make you comfortable.
I loved watching all the U.S. stuff though. On the way to Taiwan, they have these videos about traveling and immigration. Apparently, it's the same for the U.S. They told us about the sights in Seattle, student visas, immigration services, customs.
I thought because I was a US citizen, I wouldn't have to go through all that crap. WRONG. They check everyone the same way and it takes forever. You also have to get your bags from the baggage claim, take them to these people who will decide whether or not to tear it apart to look for stuff, send your baggage to another terminal AGAIN, ride a train to the main part of the airport, and wait for your stuff to come over.
I'm telling you, the people putting luggage on that thing are screwing with you. My dad and I put our luggage on together. Like, right next to each other. When we get to the main terminal, all spread apart. So was everyone else's. I bet those luggage guys are down there going, "HA HA! Let's put these matching bags 40 feet apart!"
I know their evil plan. I'm onto it.
And back to my house where I slept for...16 hours. *cough*
LOL. That's all I have.
