For you geeky SoCal people, this weekend is the
Jet Propulsion Laboratory's open house. It's worth going to if you like stuff like that. I've been a couple times. Kinda wanted to go this year, but couldn't remember if it was at the beginning or the end of May. Hoping for the latter, because now... ain't exactly the time. Ow. What a fun month April has been. I mean, fun. I don't think I should've had that much fun in April. I'm pretty sure you can get shot in certain countries for having that much fun.
If you don't know about
Dark Roasted Blend, well now you do. They had
a bit on fractal art recently that is full of pretty colors, and they mentioned a DIY fractal freeware program called
Apophysis... so I tried it out the other day. I know absolutely nothing about the math behind fractals, only that geeks use them to make pretty pictures with pretty colors. (This is seriously the extent of my brain these days. Blah.) Here's what I came up with after fiddling with a bunch of triangles:
