I celebrate hope, a return of the light and warmth, of people gathering together to have a bright time in the middle of the long dark. To that end, you'll find me acknowledging the Winter Solstice, and celebrating Yule and Christmas with light, love and feasting.
I celebrate love too. One love that was cemented in marriage twelve years ago. And another love, that of a daughter for her mother, who I lost one chill December. And when I can, I visit her grave on Christmas Eve, on the anniversary of her funeral, and I think of her.
