I hate dental work. In fact, I hate dental work so much, I get very cranky about having to undergo it. There's the good kinds of pain and then there's... dental work. So why am I capitalizing on my body's ability to feel pain? Oh. Right. Insurance issues. So far, I've scheduled two dental appointments, and two doctor's appointments (one for today), and I need to schedule one more dental appoinment. I hate cavities too. And needles. Especially needles. The feeling of novacane wearing off isn't too high on the favorite things list either.
*resigned sigh* At least I don't have to pay out-of-pocket for this much pain...
Classes are definitely going to be challenging this quarter. I anticipate my social life and sleep schedule suffering more than it did last quarter, which is rather scary. For English, I've got this lewd, obscene, androgynous-looking, feminist hippie guy. He's pretty loveable as long as you don't take his side comments seriously. He's going to be a very challenging professor. I'm looking forward to it. For Math, I've got a nice, superscary, organized professor. She's a really good teacher; she imparts information so effortlessly that it's surprising, at the end of class, how much material we've covered. She's friendly but aloof. My new Java professor, though not comparable to Gunner (my java prof for the last two quarters), is not a bad sort. He seems a little vauge about how the stuff works internally, but he seems to have pretty broad experiences and he's actually giving us practice integrating multiple technologies so that's good. Our first assignment is to build some client-server broker software with a SQL backend. Karate is, well, karate.
I spent way too much on pleasure books recently; I think I'll have time to do some reading before bed - say five or ten minutes - and I'm all set until Harry Potter comes out late next year. I'm re-reading the Darkover series by Marion Zimmer Bradley and the Vlad Taltos series by Steven Brust. I have found I like compilations - they take up less shelf space than the individual volumes.
Sleep is underrated. So are showers.
