advanced happy 4th of july

i barely have the energy to go through the rest of my day living life these days, much less recap everything that has happened on xanga but i figured i should at least say happy 4th of july to y'alls.  i've been reading a feng shui book that i got at a yard sale and i can't help but wonder if all the fireworks this holiday will chase away any of the bad chi that surrounds my house/home, family, and life in general...

anywho, i don't want to be too much of a downer so let's talk about something else.

amabelle invited me to a bonfire at coronado on friday and i had a good time.  it was a much needed escape that couldn't have come at a better time.  we had issues getting the bonfire started since gil's cousin had the lighter fluid so we ended up making friends with the neighboring pit (guy's name was chris?) and "ablaze" became the IT word hehe.

do you guys watch discovery health channel?  one of the shows had something about progeria--a mysterious disease that causes premature aging in kids, killing them by the time they reach their teens because their bodies are aging 7x faster than it should be... well, the girl who has progeria and has lived to the ripe old age of 20 (the prom queen) is from bonita vista high.  wow.

if any of you san diego peeps out there are free on saturday, july 8th between 1130am and 130pm, wildcoast would really appreciate your support at the CLEAN WATER NOW! RALLY & PADDLE.  congress representative susan davis will be in imperial beach for a neighborhood meeting and environmentalists, surfers, fishers, and community members will be assembling at the imperial beach pier in order to raise awareness about water quality issues in the area.  there's free ice cream and t-shirts for all those who attend!  i got my free shirt today and it's SO cool!  plus i hear the ice cream at cow-a-bunga is YUM!  if you've got surfboards, boogeyboards, fishing rods, and other water user/enthusiast gear bring it along!

on a similar note, i'm organizing a fishing derby on saturday july 15 from 8am to 12noon also at the imperial beach pier.  there's no entry fee, we just want people to fill out water quality and fishing surveys, and there'll be prizes
  hope y'alls can make it.
