let's start off with a picture:

dinner at the panda inn - horton plaza, downtown san diego :-)
response to mandy - no, the heisman went to the most deserving person :-P anywho, i'm hoping vince young turns pro. he was on leno tonight and he seems like he might turn pro... please turn pro!!! and damn houston texans, go pick your hometown boy!!!! that way reggie bush has a better shot of going to the 49ers to reunite with alex smith :-) man, i never thought i'd be rooting for the 49ers... wow! well, at least it's not the raiders :-P okay, enough football!
i just found out my friend and jogging buddy lear-la is leaving me in a couple of weeks or so GaH!!! she's applying to a masters program in advertising at the art university of sf (?) and if she doesn't get in she'll be pursuing another ba there so regardless of what the admissions decision may be, she's going back to norcal. she's moving in a couple of weeks and staying with her friend marie til they find another apt... BOO. all my sd friends, and believe me i don't have a lot to begin with, are leaving me *sniff sniff* but i'm so happy for lear-la though! what she intends to pursue is such a great match for her personality and i know she'll not only excel in it, she'll also love every minute of it, and *gasp* has a realistic chance of making pretty good money. hooray for that!
we exchanged christmas presents tonight and i'm happy to report we loved each other's presents a lot so wHeeEee!!! i'm such a dork cuz i LOOOOVE the homemade and personalize card/tag attached to the gift. leave it to an artsy fartsy person to do that hahaha. it's got pictures of her from her photography class last semester and funny things written on them in true lear-la fashion. not like the naked guy holding a bunch of roses card she gave me for my birthday two years ago but SO lear-la lolz. and yes, the roses were covering the most interesting parts :-P
oh damnit, she hasn't even left yet and i already miss her *sniff sniff*
we were gonna go jogging in our usual spot (around mission bay) but we were both running late due to errands and so we were kinda like ehhh, it's too cold and dark at the bay now so we decided to go on a nice, long, leisurely walk around north and south park instead. we went to the record store like we always do. it's nice taking a stroll down that part of the neighborhood, it's totally reminiscent of college avenue... we noticed a new independent and foreign film store opening up in february 2006 and lear-la got all sad... just when she's about to leave there's all these new things we're discovering... we also found this really NICE book and knitting store next to the record store. we've never noticed it before because it was always closed by the time we'd be walking around. they close at 6 but by chance they were having a knitting club meeting of sorts there at 630pm tonight so we were able to check things out. oooh, i can go there to hang with the knitting club after i FINALLY learn how to knit.
dinner at our usual souplantation joint after a nice hour long walk and a lovely encounter with three dogs. this guy was walking 3 dogs and the smallest one (i think a chihuahua mix?) was following us and was so adorable! man i want a dog! anywho, we got all excited cuz we thought lemon was back but NO... the lemon chicken pasta with capers (except there were HARDLY any much to lear-la's disappointment) was yummy but a cruel joke that got our hopes up. fortunately, despite the wait, the apple cobbler totally made up for everything. YUM! and we didn't even have to wait that long. awwww, i'm gonna miss our routine *sniff sniff* but lear-la put a positive spin on things saying now i'll have another place to stay at when i visit the bay area score!
being the old grannies that we are and thanks to the food coma courtesy of souplantation and that frozen yogurt cone we took to go, we quickly threw out movie renting plans out the window. we got back to her place and i showed her my developments in guitar for 10 minutes, then we watched educational television programming. OMG we had such a blast making comments hahaha. the discovery channel is apparently running shark week so everything was shark this, shark that, even had a historical show with announcers that looked like they were dressed up as penguins. we basically concluded that they had bad editing skills LoLz. the learning channel is running an all fat/obesity type of programming all the time in light of the fact that it's the beginning of the year and lotsa people are joining the revolution, or at least contemplating it.
here's a :-) for a wonderful evening hanging out with lear-la tonight. i had such a blast i didn't even really notice i was missing karaoke at the bonita store again for the umpeenth time. but then again, like matt, the bonita store's just been kinda EH to me lately. things have changed, people have changed, circumstances and situations have changed, and none of us can ever go back to the good old days... whatever that means. still, i want lear-la to come out and karaoke with us at least once. we can do the lear-la song! hahaha.
i <3 reggie bush. go trojans! fight on! okay, i'll shut up now :-P
