too much television
The difference between television and real life is that relationships between father and sons are better on TV. Last week while watching a Battlestar Galactica episode, there was a quick exchange between father and son. Paraphased:
Apollo : If it was me down there would you go to all this trouble?
Adama : You shouldn't even need to ask me that.
Apollo: But...
Adama : If it was you, we'd never leave.
Watching this, it struck me as a touching father and son moment THAT I'LL NEVER HAVE.
Not that I'm bitter that my father and I can't have a conversation or anything like that.
