Woot!
I have a working router running OpenWRT linux based firmware, and acting as an OpenVPN based ether bridge terminus to the network in Derby.
That was remarkably easy, except for the lack of WPA encryption - for some reason although it is supposedly supported it doesn't work for me.
$ ssh 192.168.1.2 -l root
