so when you're moving...

...how do you keep yourself on track to keep packing so that you get everything done on time?
Do you do a couple boxes a day, or by section of the apartment, or what?
I'm finding myself struggling with the process- I can't seem to focus, I get stressed easily, and I don't accomplish much.
How do you pack to move?

First, I see how much time I have left before leaving. Let's say I have 2 weeks. The first 3 days, I just throw away what I am not going to need, or make a goodwill pile. Think "do I love it?" "Do I need it?" "Does it make me upset/happy when I see it?" "Will I want it later but I don't need it for the next 2 weeks and when I'll be away?" For each question, decide if you want to keep the thing, throw it away, give it away, or leave it with someone until you return.
When this is done, spend the next 3 days packing things you want to take to London but are not going to use right now. Make a suitcase with these things.
Then the last week: get clothes out to wear for the next days until you leave. All the other clothes that you kept after the first 3 days will go in a suitcase. You can use them to wrap fragile items too. So now, you should not have any decorative thing in sight, only the clothes you will need, some silverware and plates and things to eat, etc. All the rest should be gone or packed...

Hope this helps! And don't worry if all is not packed and there is like 72 hours left. A lot of packing has to be done at the last moment because there are things you can't do without on a day to day basis.
