Visiting San Francisco

This city is truly multi-cultural and multi-faceted. Truly eye-opening.

Day 1 - met up with Vincent, ex-student, doing an associated degree there. Nice catching up with an old friend. The boy's really grown, after having his eyes opened by the city for a year. Evening dinner was at The Blue Mermaid, by recommendation. Yuck...

Day 2 - Segway tour around Fisherman's Wharf and North Beach. Loved that contraption. Do they sell it in Sgp? It would actually be a great commuting tool for short distances. Evening visits to Golden Gate and Twin Peaks was marred by muggy weather.

Day 3 - Haight-Ashbury was a real riot of colours. Didnt find my own Summer of Love though. And it was a disappointment to see hippie culture now sold in tin cans on the shelves for ignorant tourists like myself. Cruise around Golden Gate, Angel Island and Alcatraz was a winner though.

Day 4 - full day trip to Yosemite National Park. My goodness, what can i say? Truly humbled by the magnificence of nature.

So starts the second leg tomorrow. A drive down Highway 1 to LA. Pictures up when i get back. Take care, folks.
