Gillian Welch sang a Bill Monroe song, I don't know the title, but it was about not jumping up and getting married cause that could be a sad life.....

she played a lot from the new album, which i don't have, but also from hell among the yearlings, which i do have...and anabelle from the first album i do believe.

She was absolutely amazing, but even more so, because i'd never seen them in person, was David Rawlings, who rocked the house. i'm not sure what instrument he was playing exactly, it was a smaller guitar shaped thing, so maybe a uke? but looked kind of like a cello? a mando-cello? whatever it was he could play it, my god!@

coming home afterwards, not so swell. i'll just say that. only because the show was over and i was left with just that, it was over. stealing my way home in the night....i bought my ticket, dressed up, went to the show, sat surrounded by people who truly loved the music, and then left the show. came home...that's all....

i did this for myself.
