My neighbors have no respect for our shared property.
Our garbage/recycling pickup is Monday mornings. Unless I bring the bins back up, they'll stay out there all week. Said bins go behind our little 4-plex next to a storage shed. What is strewn all over the place right next to our giant garbage and recycling roller carts? A mountain of cardboard boxes and other various recyclables. People, it's not that hard to pick up after yourself! One guy's apartment looks directly into that little area, so I'm surprised he doesn't care about how it looks more.
I'm not saying that I'm the neatest person, or that it isn't easier to just leave a box intact and on the ground next to the recycling, rather than break it down and put it in the bin, but goddamn! It's not that hard! 95% of the time my room is a disaster area, but our living room and kitchen are spotless because I know another person lives here and it's not fair to her for my personal mess to be in our shared space. Is it that unreasonable to expect that the same thing applies to the whole 4-plex? Pick up your shit! Make the whole area a nicer space to live in! I don't mind bringing up the bins from the driveway every week, but it gets annoying to go back there and see shit thrown everywhere.
I'm going to make a nice little sign and post it. I hope it won't make me seem too passive-agressive.
