i went to go see the Turner,Whistler, Monet exhibit at the Art Gallery of Ontario yesterday. while i was observing some utterly astounding pieces of art, i overheard a security guard and a gallery patron arguing over the intention of the display.
"it is about pollution... blah blah blah"
"no, it is about the industrial revolution's destruction of the landscape... blah blah blah"
not to say that this argument detracted from my experience of the actual art pieces (actually it was rather entertaining), but their indoctrinated interpretation of the display was so limiting. why not collaborate and elaborate on each individual's ideas, which i think was the real intention of the display...
i also took this picture of my favorite piece at the gallery...
one day when i can afford to do it, i am going to have all the legs and supports of my furniture resemble that claw... it is flipping awesome!
