This lead me to Learning to unlearn, which had this marvelous quote:

have made them successful in the past and that no longer will actually work in the future.
I think this not only applies to corporations, but organizations, as well as individuals. Sometimes to move forward, you have to let go of the past-at least those portions that are tying you down and holding you back.
