I am a Star Wars Junkie. I just watched Episode III, and it reminded me of posting this little observation. Since I am a Star Wars Junkie, I have read some of the books that are based after Return of the Jedi. Of course in Return of the Jedi, Luke Skywalker chops of Darth Vader's arm to reveal that it is a robotic hand.
Flashback to Attack of the Clones where we see Anakin Skywalker, who of course turns into Darth Vader, has his hand chopped off by Count Dooku. Note Count Dooku is also known and Darth Tyrannus.
Coming back to the books that are written after Return of the Jedi, Luke Skywalker meets this girl whose name is Mara Jade, in a Star Wars book called Heir to the Empire. Mara Jade is later reveals to be The Emperor's Hand who can hear the Emperor anywhere in the galaxy to do his bidding. Eventhough her duty as the Emperor's Hand can be seen as almost the same as Darth Vader's duty as an apprentice, she carries these mission in absolute secrecy and is not a true Sith apprentice. Here is the point I am trying to make...
In the book, Darth Vader lost his arm because he failed to capture Luke, Leia, Lando, Chewie, C-3PO, and R2-D2. Darth Vader told the Emperor this and the Emperor punished Vader by taking his right arm.
Back to Attack of the Clones, Anakin Skywalker, before he turns into Darth Vader, gets his arm chopped off by dueling Count Dooku.
This is one innacuracy that I noticed...I'm going to go watch Star Wars again.
