I missed the deadline to submit my SXSW panel but here it is for anyone who may have been curious. I had some amazing panelists who were interested too. I hate being a flake. Next year maybe?

Human Data: Social Engineering in the Digital Age

Organizer Rachel Haywire | machineKUNT Records

Description Social Engineering is the act of manipulating people into performing actions of divulging confidential information, rather than by breaking in or using technical cracking techniques. Many people view social engineering as an ethical problem while others compete for social engineering clout. In this panel we will explore what it means to be a social engineer and discuss the phenomena of human data. We will cover the darker side of memetics, the ethics of digital brainwashing, and taboo social experiments that have helped shape our digital culture.

Questions Answered

1. What is social engineering?
2. Do memetics have the power to force people to act against their will?
3. How are humans being used as data for social experiments?
4. Can digital brainwashing be an effective tool for cultural revolution?
5. Are social engineerings hacktivists?
6. How have social experiments involving human data shaped our history?
7. Can one become a social engineer without stomping on ants?

It's a shame that I always submit everything last minute. How do you guys feel about this topic and the proposal at hand?
