I assumed (erroneously and of hysterically given the other conversation I was having at the time) that this whole "Cote de Pablo leaving the show" thing was because she decided "eight years, done now, wanna go do something else". Which, okay, still makes me seriously sad, but that's fair. That's totally fair, doing this kind of show is brutal, and I can see wanting to spread out and do other things.
Finding out this morning that nope, CBS just didn't want to pay her more (when she's one of the primary characters but, as far as I know, one of the lower-paid regulars?) - this fills me with rage. Because CBS keeps doing this kind of shit, look at how badly they dicked around Criminal Minds. So part of my rage is that they're making what I think is a STUPID ASS DECISION. And the other part of it is more (less?) meta... it's that after everything that character has been put through, everything they've done to her, she's just getting... thrown away, I guess?
I have no idea how they're planning to wrap up her storyline... and I'll probably look up spoilers first to decide if I even want to watch it. (If not, well. As far as I'm concerned, when they all quit, Tony and Ziva were both recruited by interpol to be spies. Because reasons.)
Meanwhile I'm sending the two of them on a fucking roadtrip (literally and figuratively. There has to be fucking.) Because damn they need the vacation. And they might just never come back.
