(Well, I didn't exactly have a summer vacation, but the sentiment is similar.)
We're celebrating Rosh Hoshanah tomorrow, today I had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season, and at least once this week I had to wear three layers, socks, and a scarf for the better part of the morning because I was cold. Our local
baker (who's adorable and makes these amazing brownies with a snickerdoodle crust) sent out an email letting everyone know that she's going to have her gingerbread cake (PHENOMENAL STUFF) and pumpkin cranberry bread starting tomorrow at the market. (I also got emails letting me know about which kinds of winter squash will be in, and another saying that greens are back in the gardens. Which is good, because we're all getting kind of sick of summer squash at this point.)
I kind of love how this whole lifestyle blends something almost ancient (the local marketplace) with something as modern as email. And don't even get me started about how much I love being able to correspond directly and talk face-to-face with the people who make and grow our food. ALL THE FEELS.
Haven started tonight (I won't get to see it until probably Sunday or Monday - and it's always been a summer show so this is a bit weird, but I'll go with it) - it won't be long until Castle, Vampire Diaries (which I need to catch up on), Once Upon a Time, SVU, New Girl, and Hart of Dixie, either. I need to sit down and figure out which new shows I want to bother trying to catch. Also, the new "Death" novel just hit stores and I'll probably buy the ebook this weekend.
The moral of this story is: it's almost fall.
The summer has pretty much ended where it began: with the Avengers (and no one is surprised.) I started out "summer" by going to see it with Brian and my Dad (because I always have to go see the comic book movies with my Dad, it's a rule) - I finished it by going to go see Avengers with Bekah for it's last "hurrah" after Labor Day. We had the theatre completely to ourselves and it was GLORIOUS. (Well, ok, we went to see Bourne Legacy after *that* but I'm taking some poetic license here.)

June 2012 Camp NaNo Completed (August Camp NaNo was a bust - I think I probably wrote about the right number of words but was so all over the place I wasn't keeping any kind of track.)
Music
- I would seriously be there all night. I think the music for this summer just deserves it's own post. I'll try to do that later this week.
I also made a ton of awesome new friends, started blogging again, and had all kinds of life and work (and Work) things happen.
