Hello Boys and Girls,
Last night I had a date with The Joker. Yes, I saw TDK! I was so overwhelmed when I got back from the theatre that I couldn't write. But now, I feel that I have to share it all with you because I'm bursting at the seams.
I'd read quite a lot of raving reviews, seen almost all the previews and trailers I could find on YouTube and heard the Oscar buzz that's currently going round. I thought I had formed an idea about the movie before I went to see it. But nothing could have prepared me for Heath's AMAZING performance.
He's certainly outdone himself in this movie. He has total command of the character and doesn't let the Joker slip from his grasp not even for a second. He's immersed so deeply into the psyche of the manic killer that he's completely unrecognisable. Heath disappears into the part and all you get is a psychotic clown with smudged makeup.
Heath is so brilliant in his interpretation that I felt compelled to follow him on his wild ride of distruction and chaos. I was captivated by his evilness. The Joker may be pure evil but he's having so much fun wreaking havoc over Gotham and he's doing it with so much gusto and style that I was completely mesmerised and even developed a certain degree of sympathy for him.
OK, I'll just go on and say it: I confess I have fallen in love with Mr. Jl! (*blushes*) I loved everything about him: his outfit, his voice, his crazy laughter, his knifes & guns, the tricks he played and the stories he told. But most of all I loved that thing he does with his tongue, which is caused by the hideous scars in the corners of his mouth. You've probably seen him do it in the trailer when he notices Rachel and says: "Well, hello beautiful!". I swear to God he does that all the time; it's his thing. Well, that made me weak in the knees to say the least.
Watching Heath's breathtaking performance has made me realise once more what a gifted actor he was. The pain of losing him is made more intense by the fact that he went at the peak of his career when he obviously had so much to offer. I'm in awe of him and I don't think I'll ever forget him or stop loving him. He was one of a kind.
Oh, and in case you're wondering, there was a 'In memory of Heath Ledger' dedication in the end titles.
I hope you all enjoy the movie as much as I did. I'll probably go see it 2-3 more times. I just can't get enough of evil Mr.J.!
~Hugs and Kisses~
