Here at Doklands we love the Swiss jazz scene, all those bands influenced by Don Li and Nik Bärtsch. Stephan Thelen's Sonar are one of them and lately they've been adding veteran ECM alumnus David Torn to their mix. Cloud Chamber comes from Tranceportation Vol.2 (2020). They play with Necks-like restrain in pursuit of the the minimal groove, tightly wound and threatening to explode at every moment, with Werner Hasler's electronic interjections acting as a potential release valve. Heavy as fuck.
