Taken from the introduction to The Alchemist:

We all need to be aware of our personal calling. What is a personal calling? It is a blessing, it is the path for you while you walk this Earth. Whenever we do something that fills us with enthusiasm, we are following our legend. However, we don't all have the courage to confront our own ( Read more... )

I make no effort to hide that the fact I burned out of the Goth scene long ago.
I'll tell you what, I am having way more fun going to raves and spinning drum & bass in my bedroom at 31 than I ever did at 21 and in the goth scene.

I "almost" feel like I wasted and missed out on a big part of my 20s..."almost"

Goth, I am not burnt out on.
Scene, I am.

Scene of anything, really.

Its all about leading and following.... I'd rather just dance to my own drum.

And speaking of drum and bass.... What variety have you been spinning?
Dubstep is AMAZINGLY popular here in Dallas right now. There's a DnB night in Denton that I occasionally go to when school is in session. The girl DJ resident there has been pining to have me out for a guest slot spin an electropunk set, but it hasn't happened yet.

Dubstep is popular everywhere. I like some of it a lot, Burial I think is amazing (although I know it's not exactly straight dubstep) . Untrue was my favorite album of 2007. I like the Skream, Boxcutter, Vex'd, Distance and some others that I have heard/downloaded/bought

As fas as drum & bass goes oddly enough I am into the really soulful, funky, garage sounding stuff. I like a lot of atmospheric and minimal stuff too but with out a doubt a lot lighter than what you probably would have guess I would be into. I get bored with a lot of neurofunk, techstep, jump up etc.

Yeah.. Burial is the shit. Been playing that album on Rocket Radio.

And yeah.. They kind of fall slightly outside of the dubstep umbrella...

There's a dubstep collective doing a guest set on rocket radio this week.. You should tune into the web stream and check em out. They'll be on just after 11:30p cali time.
