China has been making lots of headlines lately, not only have the build a massive fuck off Hal/Skynet powerful computer but they are also looking to cut their meat consumption by half!? I really do find the vegan movement to be annoying, I have a good number of vegan friends and they are kind enough to put up with my retarded questions and I'm thankful, I've met a few nutters who I'm more than happy to have nothing to do with.. seriously thinking that you above other people because your diet is different is a big shitty. But I digress.. I'm not one to judge on diet but I'm at peace with mine, fairly.. I mean things could be done differently but I'm not gonna stop eating meat, I eat a fair amount of vegetables and fruit, I kidna take in what my body needs, yes I'm' sure you can survive on just vegetables and without pharmaceuticals or supplements etc, but I'm sure you can drive a car with your feet but it doesn't mean everyone has to.
Anyway I do agree that we should eat more natural food, the distribution and production of this, well lets say I agree with the Zeitgeist model but it's not feasible right now as everyone is pent up with money but I do believe that natural is better, but that does include animals cos they are yummy between some bread innit. What's always been an issue is how much land we allocate to growing/rearing food. China, being the wolf on the world has a lot of "unused" land but it's great to see that they have the land and willingness to make such a change, but what's the catch?
First of it's all a promise, lord knows if this will actually happen, secondly they are apparently the highest producers of pollution of all sorts and their consumption of "god meat" or rare animals is one of the highest. So when they claim that they will consume less meat does this mean cat? I'm not racist I'm making an extremely poor humored joke *smack my wrist* but really is this just an continuation of China being persecuted at it's range of exotic meat?
Every time China makes some kind of changes the world feels the difference, I remember when they started buying up a lot of pasta, yeah pasta, for some reason China started buying up so much pasta that the price raised and it wasn't being stocked in certain stores, but that passed. Then the biggest shock, an increase of industrial production and less girls (okay and men) needed to sell their hair, and hair extension prices doubled overnight.. *sigh* the last thing i remember is when they refused to accept a few shipments of used cardboard from one of our local ports, it threw the local council into a tizzy, how dare they suddenly refuse the shipment, we usually export twice as much!! As far as I know those shipments haven't continued. Maybe this increased growth of natural food and lack of meat will change things worldwide, maybe not? I'll keep an eye on the situation and see what happens.
