It's a good read too. The historical setting is the Restoration, a time period I haven't encountered much, if at all, in historical romances. Some of the action takes place at the court of King Charles II and these people were a tad promiscuous. The hero, William, is actually a real libertine and not just one of those pretend rakes you often find in historical romances - you know the kind: one look at the heroine's magic vagina and the garden variety rake becomes a monogamous pussycat. Not so William, he has some serious issues which he tries to ignore with the help of plenty of sex and alcohol.

I read James' "Broken Wing" too and to me it seems that her romances are a bit different in that the emotional journey is more about the hero and less about the heroine. Usually it's the other way around with the hero facilitating the emotional journey of the heroine (Elizabeth Hoyt's "The Serpent Prince" is a wonderful exception though).

Judith James has another book coming out soon which sounds really interesting too in which the heroine is a courtesan at the court of King Charles II.
