I too thought it was funny that there hasn't been as much squee-age about that kiss as the other.

Frankly they both look the same to me, and it's GOT to be the JB-factor.

How can you tell intimacy from that, anyways?

As for Marsters: I fear that the Marsters Fandom will be just as annoying.

VERY true.

Have seen THAT MOMENT now, and the j/i fangirls are gonna have to flail hard to make their kiss seem bigger ;)

I have seen the clip - holy moly! JB has made JM hot! that is one great scene - very exciting and almost cinematic.

Well, from the pictures I saw, it's certainly not as intimate a kiss as the Jack/Jack kiss of 1x12, mostly because it most definitely isn't full on (James has his mouth closed... yes, I've stared at this too much for my own sanity already). I can't judge on the Jack/Ianto one from the trailer, though, as I've had not particular reason to study *that* one.

the Jack/Jack kiss is the one to beat for intimacy and authenticity, yes.

Oh pffft. JB can sell a kiss with a muppet (and yes I do mean literally, does no-one else remember the pics from his visit to Avenue Q?), and although I've never really seen him kiss anyone other than Buffy/Drusilla/Anya on BtVS, I've no doubt JM knows how to pull off one hell of a scorching kiss :)

Though if I'm being honest, of course I'm more a sucker for the Jack/Ianto clip, but that's down to me, not what's going on onscreen - I may be a shallow fangirl but I tell myself that at least owning up to it counts for something *ahem*

oh, I remember that Avenue Q puppet kiss - it was disturbingly hot. JB is a naughty, naughty man!

Hehe, oh he is and he loves it, and we're wrapped around his little finger and we love it. I'm sure biologist have some kind of name for this happily co-existent type of state...

Oh and you have seen this interview with Kai Owens - I do love Rhys and this left me very very happy for him :)

symbiosis of the fannish kind?

Oh, that is a lovely interview. I think Rhys is cute, I wouldn't toss him out of bed for eating crackers.

Oh, thank you.

I've been biting my tongue (should that be sitting on my hands?) so as not to make wtf?! noises about the 'but it's not as good as...' squeaks on the TW comm. I did have a go with a post a few days ago trying to get people over there to discuss some of the other interesting things from the trailers, and the response wasn't bad, but I still got a few who just couldn't talk about anything but how everything relates to Ianto Ianto Ianto. Now I can stand him in proportion, but really... *Yawn* Ah well, here's hoping for some balanced characterisation in S2, and maybe - What was that about Catholic popes? ;)

oh, I am sure new canon will be balanced enough - it's certain sections of the fandom for whom nothing exists but Ianto, Ianto, Ianto and everything revolves around him and orbits him - including Jack.

But Jack is his own sun. He doesn't revolve or orbit around anybody.

Yes. Nail. Hit. Head. (on)

Also? Requires either iconing or fic. :)

Solar

Jack is his own sun. He doesn't revolve or orbit around anybody.

They all just revolve around him.

It was during those wonderful few months on the TARDIS, when he was a satellite, he, Rose and the Doctor orbiting around each other, that Jack learned how to be a sun.

Now that he is one, he shines as brightly as he can, looks after his people the best he can. Yes, it’s hard work, sometimes. With what Torchwood does, dragging people back into his orbit can be very difficult, but he does it, again and again.

When he can’t, Jack adds another satellite to his solar system and sets it spinning, while he sits at the centre, keeping everything going.

Way to judge without context, fandom! /snark

Seriously though, you know that's gonna be the attitude

honestly, disregarding fandom politics for a moment, how can one tell given those very short teasers which kiss is hotter, or more intimate, ore more snoggy, or more whatever?

One can not - so it's all fandom politics.

My theory: if you have to put a trailer on slo-mo to SEE the kiss, you don't have enough to determine what KIND of kiss it is :D
