Feel-good karma incentives are all nice, but they need some edge.

"Buy enough of these indie games and we kick up the launch date."

"Don't buy enough of these games and we shoot the Senior Lead QA Tech on 2nd Shift."

Now that...that would drive up the page hit count! =)

Speaking from personal experience, I can assure you that threatening the life of a QA person will not motivate anyone. Indeed, suggesting that by not purchasing a product, you will harm a QA person, you will likely ensure that sales completely tank.

So flip it around...buy enough of the product and we execute the QA guy via webcam. Or even better yet, buy enough of our product and we *ARM* the QA guy while locking all the exterior doors in the program management offices.
