Don't know how many people are actually reading this anymore since I only post rarely on here, for that I am sorry (but not that sorry, lol), just know that I do keep checking back here and catch up on my friends page fairly often...
Anyways on to the post and reason why I am once again gracing myself on livejournal.
I put this up on my Facebook page about an hour ago, 11:10pm August 24, 2010 (yes I feel it is important to time stamp it for some reason...perhaps because it is about time) and am putting it here to hopefully get more thoughts from others about how you feel about this and to go further with my theory(ies).
So without futher ado here is the post and what is currently in the comments, of which I will continue to post as long as it lasts (usually one to two days)
Me (original post)- After listening to The Exchange on NHPR on the ride home tonight about Time, I have come up with a theory... "As you get older time gets shorter" Think about it, when you were younger a day seemed like eternity, Summers lasted forever, and as you get older years feel like months, days like are like an hour, and hours feel like seconds... What are your thoughts?
Lesley- It is just like the sand running through the hour glass, the less sand there is, the faster it seems to run out.
Me- So just to clarify, what you are saying is that as you get older your time is running out so each moment becomes fleeting?
Lesley- Yes :)
Me- Interesting, and yet it makes one think... and produce even more theories that you could connect to that...
Jerod- I think time is but a man-made concept, and is used for organization. We don't really need time to exist. It is just there to guide us along.
Me- Very true! It is a universally accepted man-made concept, and from what they were saying on the program it wasn't even the same in most states from town to town. In fact NH as early as the 1930's didn't have townships using the same time. For instance you could talk to someone in Keene and they would tell you a different time up to an hour difference from what someone in say Milford... but my thoughts turn to the feeling of time...(I know it is a little unclear from what I wrote) not necessarily the numbers on a clock... (maybe it is still a little unclear...lol)
But I do like where you were going!
I am just fascinated by this thought.
Any and all opinions are greatly appreciated!
