I guess I'll cover some things that I talked about in my previous post...
Telescope stuff, well... I am certainly going to be offered one of the pads out at the site, but it might take a couple of months for it to happen. There are 11 pads available and 8 people, but a lot of people are very picky about what site they want. I talked to some people out there about building a dome and it seemed kind of split between people who said "Yeah, you should do it, and if you want help convincing the board to allow it, let me know" and "Sorry, there is no way it'll happen". One guy out there has a roll-off observatory that he paid $30,000 for and its a 20x20 building. This sounds crazy expensive to me! Maybe cement blocks are very expensive. I was figuring less than $5k for my 16' dome, and thats considerably more complicated of a design and would even have a fiberglass coating. All of that is way far into the future though (a year, minimum), so I'll just continue to play around with the design.
As far as the sending roses to Chloe thing goes... yeah, not so well. SHE DIDN'T RESPOND. Seriously?! What the fuck ladies? If a guy sends you expensive ass roses you'd better at minimum call the guy and say you aren't interested. LAME!
I -did- however have a girl buy me a drink last night. I went to the Shout House with Jennifer and a guy she was meeting for the first time. The basic idea of the place is you pay some money and make a request, and two guys on stage with piano's play the song and sing. Its a blast. Jennifer really likes the music from The Little Mermaid, so she paid $1 and the guys on stage started singing. There was a table of 6 girls that were singing along (they knew EVERY word)! There were some other people though who must have really not liked it though, because they paid $32 to STOP the music! I ran up and plopped down $40, and the music continued. :) One of the girls sitting at the table bought me a jager bomb. :) I wasn't really interested in her (her friend was wayyy more my style), so I didn't flirt with her.
That about covers that stuff.... now... onto some good news that I just found out. I got a bonus at work!! A pretty sizeable bonus! Its about 10% of my salary and is enough that I can pay off the rest of my car! Woo hoo! No more $400 a month car payment!! It also means as soon as I hit 25 I can switch car insurance companies and get a big break there, saving me even more every month.
Oh yeah, I think I'm going to be going up to Seattle for work near the end of May. It should be a blast! This next month is pretty busy! This weekend is paintball with Jennifer and her work, then the weekend of the 17th I'm going up to Lake Arrowhead for a couple of days to drink and get fat. Then the on June 1st I've got the marathon. Wowzers. Only a month to go!
