LJ Meet - 20081012

Hi cyberabadIt's been ages since we've had a meet.  One of the reasons being that some of the regulars have been falling sick on weekends.  This is not bad in itself, but there's no point scheduling a meet you know is going to be an underpowered one from the start ( Read more... )

It depends.. A no holds barred paid account will have 100 MB of space credited to the account. You can buy more space though.

You can find more details by clicking on the green "thumbup" icon next to peoples names in their profiles for more details.
For example:

User:     angiasaa (895625)
Additional space might also be bought. Details here.

There's a problem though. People uploading pics are usually noobs. They'll upload uncompressed BMP's and JPG's.. 3 to 12 MB per file.. That would eat up space mighty fast. Also, if they don't understand the interface, each picture will end up in a separate album.. I don't mind people mailing everything they got at me and me sitting down and doing the extra work cause I know what the resultant mess would be like otherwise. :)

People can still upload pics to their own LJ spaces and link to them from here. We have no problem with that. :)

umm.. I guess the real question was, would cyberabad benefit from a paid account (Not just in terms of pictures)?

Well, for one thing, we'd not be showing advertisements to non-signed in people.. Besides that, there are a number of features.

Paid Account Features = Basic Account features + Plus Account features + A Few More features

For a more detailed understanding, try this page. :)

The best thing though, is we get everything and no ads. :)

No use having most of the features if the members don't know how to use them though. :)

Yeah. :) Pretty much pointless. Half the people on cyberabad have no clue whether they're looking at the front or back of their browser, let alone figure out the features if we went paid.
