Ego much?

Another odd dream to add to the books.

I enter a posh party on a green lawn spread between the warm stucco walls of two mansions. I would say the sky is Californian, deep blue with no clouds. As I walk around and people-watch another guest enters the premises. She's beautiful. Leggy, with chic dark hair and sunglasses. She's also Lucifer. She makes her presence known by telekinetically slaughtering the small group of people closest to her. After a short bout of screaming, an eerie silence falls. Suddenly rows of gunmen pop up on the walls. They look like SWAT members, and for a second I'm relieved, until I notice that they aren't pointing their sniper guns at Lucifer, but at everyone else. Like most people I throw myself to the ground with my hands in the air. A woman next to me is in hysterics. Then Lucifer speaks, quietly and with a little smile on her face. She tells us that if anyone rudely decides to leave the party, she'll kill them, and if anyone successfully manages to leave without dieing first, she'll kill everyone who's left. I'm at the far end of the party, near a wall. The woman next to me loses it. She runs. I close my eyes and ears, but I still hear the numerous gunshots. I'm deciding what to do with myself when a large burgundy stage curtain descends from the sky and covers me. A person appears by my side. I know they're there, but for the life of me, I can't remember any features. They ask me whether I want to leave. I tell them yes, but I can't. I am fairly confident that I can escape, especially now, but I'm unwilling to leave. They ask me if I want to save everyone at the party. I tell them, yes. We slip away...

And enter a small room. It's rectangle shaped, with two doors on either end of one wall. One wall is a short chain fence that looks into a backyard, and the other is a taller wooden fence that blocks off a street. There is a dummy in the middle of the floor and the person hands me a red velvety wheel, about the circumference of a large Frisbee. They show me how to throw it to slash the chest and throat of the dummy. Apparently this is The weapon to kill Lucifer. I'm dubious. I tell them that there's no way that this little piece of crap will do anything. I ask for something more useful, like a gun, or better yet, a magical sword. You know who's better at close combat, they ask me and quickly answer their own question, Satan is. I am rebuked like a child. Sullenly I stare at the cat that is also in the room. It looks bored. I wish it had catnip. A catnip plant grows in front of it on the spot. I'm enthralled. I think of something else that could be in the room. It appears in the room. I ask excited whether I can control the reality of the room. The person chastises me and tells me to get back to work. The cat is bouncing around the room joyously. One of the doors opens, and I hear gunshots and screaming. They tell me that Satan got bored with the party. Everyone is dead. It is time to leave. The room has become unsafe, and Satan has caught on to my scent and my potential. I am angry. The person had told me that I could save them all. It was a lie. The wheel was just a distraction to keep me safe. We escape the room by going over the wooden fence.

Several years pass. Lucifer is now in charge. Through a door I enter a town made of tall brick and stone buildings separated by little winding cobblestone alleys. A silver colt is strapped to my side, and a blond wavy wig is placed securely on my head. I'm some sort of gunslinger/ bounty hunter. I have just finished some mission and have some money on me. I find my way to a little cafe/bar. My organic chemistry professor is the barman. Except here, he's blind. I take the wig off and toss it tat the counter.  I order breakfast and pay off my tab with a twenty. This is a safe place for me. I listen to the chatter while I eat some sort of graham strawberry cake concoction that was made especially for me. (really bad-ass, yo) I feel a sort of foreboding premonition. I leave quickly. Back into the alleys I turn a couple of corners and come to Sarah Horvath's magazine and news stand. She's behind the counter looking anxious. I spot her trouble. A douche-looking guy is walking around with his pet zombie. The thing is about four feet tall, skinny, and raw looking. I tell him that city law says it needs to be on a leash. He tells me it doesn't feel like it. I toss a chain at him and snap at him to just do what I say. The end of the chain accidentally smacks the zombie in the face. It snarls and throws itself at Sarah. I shoot it in the head before it gets to her. However, zombie blood gets on her horrified face. I'm worried she could get infected and I'm angry at myself for not getting a warning to her first. Something sneaks up behind me. Thinking it's the douche-bag or something worse, I whip around and shoot instinctively. I've shot Ellen Mann. A group gathers. I hear Gloria Miner in the background snickering. Aaron Hill approaches me and is angry at me for shooting Ellen. I tell him angrily if he had snuck up behind me, I would have shot him too. We argue and Ellen, though shot, seems to be perfectly alright, and is simply giving me a very resentful look.

I have a very foreboding feeling again. I leave the crowd abruptly and jog down a couple alleys. I come across a glass door. On the other side I see a large classroom of children. They are all sitting at their desks quietly. They are all wearing terrified expressions. The door is locked. I try to kick it open. That doesn't work. I then try to bust it open by ramming it with my shoulder. This also fails. I spot a friend from my biology classes at the mouth of the alley. He's a big farm guy. He opens it obscenely quickly. Irked, I run into the room. Two children rush towards me. They are drenched and as they gabble at me it takes me a couple seconds to figure out what with. Gasoline.

Then my alarm goes off and I wake up.

The moral of this story. Emilia secretly wants to be a comic book hero and or Jesus. Oh, and I'm sorry that I may have turned you into a zombie, Sarah.
