Interview madness

Mar 22, 2008 19:15

The interview went pretty well yesterday...at least I hope so. I got there pretty early because I forgot how quickly i drive when I'm nervous, and I was on the thruway so I could so pretty fast. Plus, being my usual paranoid self, I left myself about 45 extra minutes anyway. I didn't even get lost on the way, I'm so proud of myself. I did make a wrong turn on to route 44, but I realized it as I was making the turn and managed to find a drive way to turn around in.

The zoo itself is pretty awesome. It's pretty big and there are tons of different animals (180 for ~80 species). I got to help feed the emus, wallabies, foxes and red pandas. The red pandas are so cyute! After I talked to the assistant director for the zoo and he explained what I would be responsible for I went and interviewed with the Dean of Students (who was very intense with piercing eyes) and the Dean of Faculty (a cute, short woman with an absolutely fabulous smile). They asked me some situational questions and what kinds of experience I had had that would be helpful at the school and I asked them a few. I went back to the zoo and met Kim, the current intern, and got shown the apartment and the reset of the campus including athletic center (basketball, squash, and some tennis courts that turn into a skating rink) and the dining hall.

The entire place really reminds me of Punahou with the different people, programs and expectations. I think it looks like a really amazing school, and even though I would be working my ass off I feel like it would be a lot of fun. The assistant director said he would contact me around April 1st, no later than April 10th. I'm crossing my fingers :-/
