Hello LJ!
So, my holidays were great. Didn't a whole lot, other than bum around the house, spend time with goose, see the family, etc. Christmas was the usual huge family affair. Lots of people, fun, presents and laughter. I'm looking forward to Christmas this year already :)
NYE was a fairly quiet one for us. Cocktails and some good company.
For the past month and a bit, we've had this little thing chasing us around the house:
Zarikus (aka, Zak), my youngest sister's Christmas present.
Zak is 3 months old and enjoys attacking shoe laces, ankles and sleeping on the pinball machine.
I went to Blink sometime before New Year (blech). Was a perfect excuse to wear a killer outfit though.
I didn't make any resolutions for this year. Had a detailed plan for some personal improvements, but so far it's not going the way it should. I've got a lot I want to achieve this year.
Back at work and so far it's generally been slow. Everyone seems to be in holiday mode still. We've had a few busy days, though. Had one last Tuesday. Coffs Harbour decided to send down 8 samples for RNA extraction, on top of the 4 we had from our hospital. They need to be processed urgently and can only be done in batches of 4, each batch taking roughly an hour and a half. They arrived at 2pm. -_-
You know... I always thought the people that turn up for midnight game releases were really, really sad. *sigh*
He went away with some of the guys last weekend... to do whatever it is nerds do when they convene. So I had a whole bunch of free time, which was a nice change. Bummed around the house. Ended up doing some cleaning. Still need to list some stuff on eBay. Clothes seem to breed in my room, heh.
Considering buying myself a decent mp3 player and searching out some more music. So...
Name five bands, artists, albums, whatever that you really love and why.
I'm looking forward to the Stitches and Craft show in Feb. I still have some of the kits I bought last year, but meh! I'd love to get into doll houses at some point, actually. Imagine it would be time consuming and expensive, but rewarding. I've made a lounge room from scratch before. Fully upholstered couches, tables, fireplace, everything. Ordered a book on the weekend that should give me some more inspiration ;)
I'm getting the urge to go back and study. I still want to do my Masters or a PhD eventually. I miss learning.
I found a pair of pants on eBay that I really, really wanted but they were probably going to be a bit too small. I bought them regardless (hey, Lip Service has crazy ass sizing and they could run large, right?). They arrived today and were a size larger than what the auction stated. PERFECT FIT! Booyah!
The boy and I went out today. Had a stroll around the city, grabbed food, browsed shops and saw Pan's Labyrinth (which was absolutely beautiful! I love fairy tales).
Sipahs + soy milk = awesome
