So, I've pretty much burned through every legible Supernatural/Harry Potter crossover on FFN and AO3, and all I've got to say is:
What's with the lacklustre fucking boggarts? You've got Dean fucking Winchester over here, KING of trauma, Mr. Has Literally Been to Hell, and you're giving me 'John, being a meanie'? What

I don't care for hurt!Sam either... He kind of bores me, really. I think it's because he reminds me a LOT of my brother in both appearance and personality, so all of the issues he has (Fuck you, Dad! & Fuck you, common sense, I'm teaming up with because I'm smarter than you!!!) just seem SO five years ago, you know? (And it makes seeing him hurt/evil/etc less appealing.)
It's juicier too, because Dean is just so much more messed up, hahaha! He needs hugs more than Sam does, and when Mr. I'm Fine finally accepts comfort, it resolves that tension we've had for LITERALLY THE ENTIRE SHOW and it's soooo satisfying. And like, Sam is the little brother, so his role is traditionally the one being comforted, and I like seeing that subverted, especially because he's got that prickly history of making nasty mistakes when it comes to Dean. I'm probably a little off, because my actual track record watching the show is really spotty, (I spend more time reading fic than watching show! For shame!!) but I don't think the show has handled that very well. I really like to pretend Dark Side of the Moon didn't happen, lol D:...
I'll let you in on a little secret, dude: What I have up on that rec list isn't even half of how many fics I have bookmarked in my 'add this to the rec list' folder. I think I have 80+ at the moment. The problem is that 1.) I'm lazy, and 2.), it's been long enough for most of them that I have to re-read them to be able to write a proper review and taglist!! So if there's ever something you're looking for, I could dig a bit...
And if you've got some good fics bookmarked that I don't have up, by all means, let me know.

About that Dark Side of the Moon episode, I actually kinda like it. Everything stays in character, really; Sam loves his brother for sure, but certainly not the way Dean him. I love how this epi demonstrates the subconscious mindset of the boys. And, THAT night being one of Sam's happy memory and Dean's worst? Are you kidding me it's AAAAANNNNGSTY FEAST!!!!!! Betrayed!hurt!Dean and a later on guilty!Sam is always my thing.
To be honest I'll love Sam as long as he stays in character. Namely... I love him only in the first five seasons. ("love" is kinda the wrong word; maybe I should say I "satisfied" with him, you know, when he's being Sam; not like in the later seasons being a clumsy and unconvincing copy of Dean, ewww. I love soulless!Sam, tho; I find soulless!Sam extremely interesting, he's a far more complicated case than his usual self really. It's such a shame they ended that storyline so soon ) It's funny how the later show-runners prefer Sam as the main main character but Dean still the consistent one. But still, the plot and character developing sucks. At least Eric Kripke is the creator and he KNEW who they are really. Who the fuck is this delicate-giant-flower after 612 I have no idea. And let's face it... the whole wall story-line is just a lame excuse to fulfill Sera the Sam!girl's Sam!H/C desire. I mean, the more I thought about it the more ridiculous this ordeal seamed to me. Why the hell Lucifer and Michael would vent on Sam is beyond me. Just... lame.
*cough cough* OK I'm a little off the track... Anyhow. If you haven't finished the show I strongly suggest you watch the first five seasons and stop there.(Or maybe stop at the end of the soulless!Sam storyline, that's 612) Seriouly... too many times I wanted to twist the writers' neck in the post-Kripke era. I still do.
Oh, I'm actually in the middle of "Yet Another Snape meets the Dursleys Story",(right, found it on your FFN profile page) yay, that's a good one!

I guess in thinking about it more, Sam's childhood was a period of his life that he was very UNhappy with. Even if he had happy memories from when Dean made it bearable, Happiness-by-contrast might not be good enough for Heaven.
Yeah, I don't know anything about what's-her-face, but the whole crazySam thing seems like a slap in the face after the ball was so COMPLETELY dropped in terms of Dean's Hell problems. Fic is confusing the fuck out of me on exactly what's up with Michael's characterization... I'm sure Lucifer would use Sam as a punching bag, but Michael? And wouldn't they be completely occupied fighting each other anyway? Where would Lucifer find the time to impress all of those parlor tricks on Sam's mind???
It is sad that they ended Soulless!Sam so soon, but think-- Wouldn't it SUCK if we didn't have the real Sam for the French Mistake?? That's the episode that finally sold me on Supernatural, by the way. And the first episode I watched was when my brother had King of the Damned on, LOL
So much of post-S5 is just, omg, so senseless. Why does everyone keep telling Dean it's a bad idea to take Sam's soul out of Hell? Like, ‘oh, sam’ll be a basket case so we shouldnt bother rescuing him from what is an eternity of literally the worst torture possible…. no. no, u dont get it. having a basket case safe on earth isnt any better than leaving a basket case in the cage. trust me. its not like if he comes back broken and dies he’ll go to heaven, or anything. nope. not any better than leaving him in the cage. not at all.’ (By the way: How did Kripke consider leaving Sam in the cage a reasonable ending :/??)
Not to mention that Carver apparently hates the fuck out of Dean, as he thinks he's, I quote, "boring." Like wow, screw you too, buddy. I bet it's his fault we didn't get that year of Demon Dean!
