I'm basking in a couple of new things, right now: my new age (26), my new job, and the sweet smell of central air conditioning. The latter is pretty self-explanatory: our air conditioner has been broken all year, until today. The rest require pictures:

I quit Rebounders this week. The decision left me feeling relieved, if a little sad to say goodbye to some people. I painted pictures for the folks in the office, and exchanged addresses with others. I'm excited to be a not-quite-full-time naturalist at two county parks, now. Word is that some folks at work think I should be in a ranger position, but I really just want to do programs. I want to be good at them. As much as I would like to ride around the park all day on the extra-small bicycle they are saving for me.

I also want to find the time and energy to do art. Having what is essentially one job at two different locations will be a lot simpler than feeling like I am juggling three, which is what I've been doing for a long time, now.

For Memorial Day weekend, my roommates and I (minus one, sadly) all traveled out to West Virginia for a relaxing weekend of ponies, hot tubs, and vegan chili. Though I don't know when I'll have time for it, I can't wait to do it again.

Two weeks ago, a little after my birthday, some wonderful people joined me at my house for a dinosaur-themed party. We watched Jurassic park and ate a lot of mesozoic-themed food, such as bugs-in-amber gel shots, bean tar pit dip, and a volcano layer cake. I was pretty proud of the cake (it looked much larger in real life).

We also played a few exciting rounds of Telephone Pictionary. Which, if you didn't know, is probably the most hilarious game I've never invented. Everyone gets a piece of paper and a pen, and on the first round, everyone writes a sentence. Then everyone passes their paper to the person next to them. On the next round, everyone draws a picture depicting the sentence that was handed to them. Then they fold over the written sentence, and pass it. Then the next person writes a sentence describing the picture they see, folds over the picture, and passes it, etc.

Do you get it? I hope so. Here are our results. They are not safe for work, and some might not be safe for life.
