Summary: Meg's drunk and Kaya's beautiful
--
"What sort of kisser are you, Kaya?" Meg half mumbles (half slurs) curiously, while they're standing in line for the loo. The brunette smiles at her, can't decide if she's more amused by the question or the fact that is drunk enough to ask it. She raises an eyebrow and smirks, already half laughing.
"Why'd you ask, Meg? Looking to accost me later in the evening?" The laughter bubbles out unchecked for a moment before she notices the still serious expression on her friend's face. "You weren't, were you?" It comes out half worried because she's always afraid of being too ditzy and missing something important.
"'Course not." Meg says matter-of-factly, leaning back against the wall of the club. "I was just wondering is all." Kaya half frowns for a second, before laughing again.
"Right," she says, glancing along the queue as they shuffle forward. The line's so long no one else has bothered join it and they're stuck on the end, but Meg said she needed it desperate and dragged her along.
"I mean, I think you'd be a good kisser." Kaya turns back and an eyebrow rises of it's own accord. "I think you'd start off slow, gentle like. Sort of how I imagine Lil would. Cute more than anything." She tilts her head and narrows her eyes - Kaya shivers under the scrutinising gaze. "But I think you'd warm up quick. Like fire. Your kisses would burn. And they couldn't pull away because if you stopped kissing them, they wouldn't be able to breathe." The husky quality of her voice doesn't go unnoticed by either of them.
It's quiet for too long and they don't notice the queue has moved on and left them behind.
"Maybe we could test your theory some time." Kaya shrugs as she says it, tries for nonchalant. It almost works.
"Maybe when you don't have a boy friend." It's muttered and earns Meg a strange look. She returns it, chin up, challenging Kaya to say something.
"I - it wouldn't bother me." And she frown as she says it, like she didn't decifer the words properly in her brain and the truth of them didn't strike until they were off her tonuge. Meg starts, not quite sure if she heard right.
"Huh -" She's cut off by a tentative touch of lips. Her eyes fall shut as the second press comes slightly harder, with more purpose. A third kiss and her eyes open when Kaya pulls back. She opens her mouth to speak again when there are hands at her shoulders and all of a sudden she's between a wall and Kaya's lips.
The kiss gets continually deeper and she swallows a groan before replying in kind. When Kaya's tongue flicks out at her lip she can't hide the quiver. Her head hits the wall at the sensation of the tongue dancing with her own and she thinks she hears Kaya moan her name. Meg's hands around her hips and she switches them, pressing Kaya into the wall for a moment, kissing her even harder for just a split second before she pulls back, leans her head against the one in front of her.
"I was - right." She gasps before taking a few deep breaths. "About the way you kiss." She steps back, all of a sudden feeling very shy, much like she is normally.
"Mm," Kaya licks her lips and rolls her head around to look at Meg properly. "Yeah." She shakes her head to try and clear it. Fails. "You're better than your sister." It kills the moment for Meg.
"You've kissed Kat?" She frowns deeply, looking more wounded than anything.
"She kissed me, actually." Kaya reaches out, doesn't quite touch. "I told her not to do it again." It comes out almost as an apology and Meg looks up. Gets a grin sent her way and can't help but smile back. But Kaya frowns and the moment's over too quickly. "Jack," her voice wavers and it comes out half as a statement, half as a plea.
"He's your guy." It comes put much more wearily than Meg means for it to, but it says what she needs it to.
"Yeah." She sighs heavily. "And if - if I don't want a guy?" It's so quiet Meg almost misses it. She smiles ironically and shakes her head at her own stupidity.
"I'll be here." Its almost a sigh and Kaya looks up again, pain clear on her features.
"I'm -" she starts then stops. "Maybe -" Tries again. "I don't know." Looks down at the floor. "I'm sorry."
"Yeah," this time it's definitely a sigh. "So am I."
As she watches Meg rush off, she wonders if she ever really needed the loo in the first place and exactly how much they've both had to drink tonight - tries to ignore the feeling that she's being ripped to shreds from the inside out.
