This is a piece of modern art (1942) mentioned by Bob Dylan on his latest radio show - the ‘Nighthawks’ painting by Edward Hopper is one of the most famous pieces of 20th century American art - Tom Waits later adapted the title for one of his early albums ‘Nighthawks at the Diner’
Gave me the lonely night feeling that I know so well. I guess I`m a bit of a nighthawk. I like to be up when everyone else around me is not. And I often feel like spending those hours with strangers for some reason. Maybe I can be someone else for a while? And of course that is the hours for playing Tom Waits, he sounds best between 2 am and 6am for some reason. He always have (to me at least *lol*) I find my self wanting these kind of night open diners in this place, or it might just be that I want to live in a bigger town. A place where I could be who ever I want to be that particular day. I`m starting to think that I`m going to have to win the lottery so I can travel around and be different people in different places *lol*
